How Bracelets are Educating Kids
We introduced Beads for Learning less than a year ago. At that time, there were a total of 4 teachers in the remote bush where we reside. At that time the ratio of student to teachers was 80:1, with a wide range of ages in each classroom. Today we are thrilled to announce that because of your support of the Beads for Learning Bracelets, we have been able to employ another 5 teachers. This brings the total to 9 and classroom sizes have been cut in half. World Teachers’ Day is held annually on October 5th. We know how important teachers are for the future of our children in Kenya and hope that you will continue to share our program and show your appreciation to all teachers by thanking them for their service. Fall Color…Taking Cues from the Great Masters? Each season, the Pantone Color Institute, the world-renowned authority on color, forecasts color trends that provide the key color palette for each season’s fashions. “Taking cues from the great masters, sepia tones of old Hollywood, Chinese opera, city scapes and countryside, designers are paying close attention to texture, contrast and color for fall 2011 – pairing menswear with feminine twists, warm prints with cool metals, incorporating both old and new influences, and creating an intriguing balance between colors.” You are so lucky if you bought some of the Summer Color Trend Collectionbecause the summer’s colors offer a continuity - the pinky-red tone (Honeysuckle as Color of the Year), as well as the golden yellow, orange, lavender and silver cloud – and are still perfect to mix with these new fall shades. The Fall Color Trend Collection mixes delightfully with some strands from the Summer Trend Collection, so have fun mixing & matching. You can’t go wrong. How to Create Your Own Style with HoopsYou don’t have to jump through hoops to wear Zulugrass… we prefer you use them to create a new look. Here is a video to get you started. Do you have any style tips? Let us know and we will feature you in one of our posts and on Facebook. Style Series “Color Association”In our color trend Style Series, we talked about how the Pantone Color Institute, the world-renowned authority on color, forecasts color trends that provide the key color palette for each season’s fashions. But did you know that colors can be symbolic? Take, for example, the color blue, commonly associated with the sky and sea. The cool tones of blue can symbolize trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, and truth. It is considered to be beneficial to the mind and body producing a calming effect. Green is the color of nature. It symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility and has great healing power. It is no surprise that shades of blue and green work in harmony. We have combined Turquoise Viper, Azure Sea Blue and Green and you can too in our Summer Trend Collection. Do colors inspire you?Ever wondered who or what influences the colors in your closet? The Pantone Color Institute, the world-renowned authority on color, forecasts color trends that provide the key color palette for each season’s fashions. In our color trend Style Series, we will explore this season’s colors which present an “interesting marriage of unexpected warm and cool tones:” Honeysuckle – a playful pinkish-red
Silver Peony – a delicate pinky silver hue
Russet – a soft deep mix of pink and beige reminiscent of the color of Spanish clay
Whether you’re craving a new tank in Honeysuckle, the deep pinkish-red hue that we think is flattering on any one (think about the warm glow that candlelight has on your skin), a flowing summer dress in the romantic tone of Safari Silver, or a scarf in the spicy, sophisticated shade of Cinnamon Sugar, Zulugrass has just the right shade to complement your apparel. These shades are designed to not only work in predictable combinations but to also play off each other in unexpected ways this season.
